No relationship is perfect, and any couple will inevitably have a fight so big that they don’t know if they should stay together. Some people don’t make it and abandon the relationship altogether, while some choose to stay and give each other a second chance.
There’ve been a lot of second chance moments in Star Cinema movies, and we listed some of the most touching ones to celebrate Kiss and Make Up Day! Remember, mending a relationship doesn’t take much - a simple sorry would always suffice.
1. “One More Chance”
This movie basically invented what second chances are - and after a whirlwind of heartbreaks and breakdowns, there was hope for Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) to rebuild their relationship.
Quote we love: Popoy: Kaya ko na ‘tong panindigan.
Basha: Hindi ka na ba aalis ulit?
Popoy: Hindi na.
2. “A Second Chance”
You could say Popoy and Basha are the couple who gives each other unlimited chances, no matter what. “A Second Chance” brings in a fresh wave of problems for the newly-married couple, but they managed to pull through even when everything was falling apart.
Quote we love: “I’m saying goodbye to the man you married. I was best at loving you, but the worst in letting you love me. Bash, sorry. Sorry sa lahat ng sakit na nabigay ko sa’yo. And I’m also saying goodbye to all my what-ifs. It’s brave to ask what if, but I think it’s braver to embrace what is, and Basha, you and only you, are my what is.”
3. “My Ex and Whys”
After Gio (Enrique Gil) broke Cali’s (Liza Soberano) trust for hooking up with someone else, he tries to get her back. It was an uphill climb for the two of them - Cali still had a lot of trust issues, and Gio couldn’t break down her walls. After all hope seemed lost and Gio was ready to move on, Cali decided love makes risking everything worth it.
Quote we love: “I’m here to let you go, but I won’t let you go without letting you know how much I love you, and how much I want to give us another chance… Kahit malayo [ka], kahit hindi [kita] makikita, alam kong ako lang ang mahal [mo], at [ikaw] lang ang mahal ko. I’m now choosing to trust you, to trust myself, and to trust love. We will work on it together, because your love is the only ‘dahil’ I need.”
4. “The Breakup Playlist”
The whole movie was Gino (Piolo Pascual) trying to win back Trixie (Sarah Geronimo) after messing up her life, but the actual moment they reconciled was short and sweet, and involved the use of albums - something they did on their first date.
Quote we love: Gino: “Sorry. I don’t deserve you. Please, please, I know I love you.”
Trixie: “I love you, too lang, okay na sa’kin.”
5. “The Unmarried Wife”
After facing emotional trauma from Geoff (Dingdong Dantes), Anne (Angelica Panganiban) declines his offer to get back together to work on herself first. After all, who reconciles with someone who cheated on them that quickly? But there’s still hope for them, because after everything they’ve been through, they’re still family.
Quote we love: Geoff: “Forever? Pwede bang forever ulit?”
Anne: “Hindi ko alam. Marami pa akong kailangang gamuting sugat. Una sa lahat kailangan ko pang patawarin ang sarili ko. So I guess, no? Malay mo, someday.”
Geoff: “Someday. Aantayin ko ‘yun. Aantayin kita. You know why I can wait? Because even if we become unmarried tomorrow, you’re still my family.”
Anne: “‘Yun naman ang forever natin. Forever tayong family.”
