Khalil Ramos has come a long way since his first TV appearance as the singing heartthrob via talent search "Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3" where he won second place, seven years ago.
And through the years, he has been exposed to the inevitable world of showbiz, where he got the chance to work with the experts in filmmaking such as Paul Soriano and Erik Matti.
“My interest started while working on the set of 'Kid Kulafu.' I was fascinated by Direk Paul Soriano’s storytelling and the way Direk Odyssey Flores captured the film,” Khalil shared on his Instagram Stories' "Ask Me Anything" when a follower asked what led him to his love of films. “I started taking on roles that were more challenging. After doing ‘Honor Thy Father’ with Direk Erik Matti, I found a new purpose in acting and [in] filmmaking.”

At the media launch of "Lights, Camera, Magic!" last July 25, Star Magic's first online short-film contest where he is part of the screening committee alongside fellow actors Piolo Pascual, Nash Aguas, Janus Del Prado, Ketchup Eusebio, YouTube Silver Play Button awardee Renee Dominique, and Star Magic Chairman Emeritus Johnny Manahan, the 22-year-old actor told PEP his journey in finding his purpose in the industry.
"I had this phase in my life when I wanted to find my place talaga here in this industry—kung saan ba dapat talaga ako, saan ba ako patungo, ano ba talaga ang gusto ko. I found it myself that my inclination is actually telling stories through different medium—photo, videos, basta visual."
As an actor who has been extra curious to learn the here and that of filmmaking, Khalil usually meddles with his directors, DOPs (director of photography), and wardrobe staff until he was able to build his own production house called "Limitless".
“I was inspired kasi grabe 'yung movement towards producing better quality film so that we can enter world stage and bring back Philippines on the map of entertainment and movie productions."
Meanwhile, Khalil, whose dream role is to act in a psychological thriller movie, assured his fans that amidst his newfound passion in filmmaking, he is and will remain on the acting department for the next chapters of his career.
“Right now, I’m currently working on two films as an actor. Siyempre, I don’t wanna be a jack of all trades, master of none. Pero right now, my expertise is naka-lean towards acting pa rin since I’m just learning pa lang the different ways of filmmaking."
