Serendipity Day: 5 cute ‘meant-to-be’ first meetings in Star Cinema movies

Serendipity: the mysterious and deliciously enticing word always brings so much excitement. After all, who doesn’t love the idea of finding things unexpectedly, of being given something that seems meant to be?

There are so many moments like these in Star Cinema movies, so we decided to compile five of them to celebrate Serendipity Day today, August 18!

1. Angel Locsin and Aga Muhlach in “In the Name of Love”

Cedes (Angel) said the iconic words “‘Pag tumingin ka, akin ka,” and sure enough, Emman (Aga) did turn around! Which just goes to prove that nothing can stand in the way if destiny wills it.

2. Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in “Barcelona: A Love Untold”

It was a cruel twist of fate when Mia (Kathryn) had an uncanny resemblance to Ely’s (Daniel) dead girlfriend Celine, almost as if the past has come back to haunt him. Despite pulling away at first, Ely eventually found it in him to stop comparing the two and just let his heart lead the way.

3. Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil in “Everyday I Love You”

Audrey (Liza) was just calmly minding her business and recording everything she sees for boyfriend Tristan (Gerald Anderson) when suddenly Ethan (Enrique) enters her frame. Who knew this chance encounter would lead to an opportunity for them to work together and ultimately fall in love? Fate and serendipity, that’s who!

4. Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia in “Love You to the Stars and Back”

So Mika (Julia) and Caloy’s (Joshua) first meeting wasn’t exactly ideal - they were peeing and pooping in the bushes at the same time - but that chance encounter blossomed into a real, lasting love that felt like coming home.

5. Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber in “Loving in Tandem”

When Shine (Maymay) prayed for an angel to guide her, Luke (Edward) immediately came into view. That might be the ultimate meet-cute, but Shine steals from Luke moments after. After countless apologies and paybacks, Shine and Luke eventually did find their happily ever after, and a jowa in each other.
