Nothing can keep Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano down, not even a brush with death.
In an interview in "Rated K" aired yesterday, July 9, the veteran performer, who is in positive spirits even after suffering through two major diseases — a near-fatal heart condition where doctors found his left major artery 95% blocked, as well as kidney cancer — put his heart bypass in perspective and said that he was "so close" to death.

He explained that his doctors had told his wife Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, "'Ang dahilan kung bakit buhay pa ang asawa niyo ay dahil lang sa grace ni Lord.' Kasi 95% blocked ['yung artery]."
Isang talon nalang."
And Gary, who has been a Type 1 diabetic for nearly 40 years meaning a small, shallow wound would have taken his body weeks if not months to heal, recovered beautifully and in record time too!
He enthused, "Talagang nagpapasalamat ako sa Lord dahil natuwa talaga 'yung mga doctor. 'Sigurado ka ba na diabetic ka?' ganoon! Ang bilis daw gumaling. I'm so thankful, talaga!"
Inspiring, isn't he? <3
