Jolo told ABS-CBN News in a recent interview that he will be taking a short course in Leadership for the 21st Century at the Harvard School of Government.
“Mahalaga ang edukasyon sa buhay ng tao - it’s not enough na street-smart ka lang,” he said.
“Dapat lang talaga [na] nag-aaral kami at patuloy kaming nag-aaral dahil ginagawa namin ito para sa taong bayan,” the 30-year-old said of politicians. “It is a must. Kailangan continuous process ‘yan even after you graduated. Ang tao nage-evolve. Parang gadget ‘yan. Palit nang palit. Upgrade nang upgrade. Bago palagi. Dapat gawin natin kung ano ang dapat nating gawin.”
In line with this belief, the “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” actor relayed that his decision to continue his studies is for himself so that he can become a better public servant.
“As a vice governor, I’m the deciding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Cavite. I do ordinances and resolutions. Kailangan armasan ko din ang sarili ko,” he said.
When asked if he plans on running for a higher position, Jolo revealed that he has no immediate plans to do so, saying, “I’m taking it one step at a time. I’m only 30 years old. The right time will come for me.”
Good luck, Jolo!
