“It’s an unfair statement.”
This is what ABS-CBN TV Production Head Laurenti Dyogi has to say about those who claim “Pinoy Big Brother” is just one big scripted show, and that the housemates don’t even have to go through auditions like "Star Hunt."
On his vlog last night, July 3, Direk Lauren shared that so many things happen before a housemate is chosen, citing the long hours the selection committee have to go through just to find a potential star.
Direk Lauren further explained that most housemates really have to go through auditions; the only difference is some of them were scouted, while some of them had to face long lines just to be seen. He cited now-successful artists Joshua Garcia and Jameson Blake as examples.
That's how Jameson was spotted at Baguio,” he said.
He continued that it’s virtually impossible to orchestrate the whole “Pinoy Big Brother” franchise - and the love teams that stemmed from it - because everything depends on what happens inside the house. None of the housemates have a bond before entering it.
“Katulad ni Maymay (Entrata)... buti nakahanap kami ng Edward (Barber)... hindi natin alam paano si Maymay if walang Edward,” he said. “Also Kim (Chiu). What if hindi niya kasama si Gerald (Anderson)? Hindi natin alam.”
