Beauty queen Mariel de Leon had admitted that she has regrets over her tenure as Binibining Pilipinas International 2017.
The "Ang Panday" star, who failed to bag the Miss International title at the competition in Tokyo, Japan last November, took to her Instagram Stories last night, July 30, and revealed that being unable to "follow her own heart" during her pageant days took a serious toll.
She wrote, "Biggest regret during [Miss International]: Pleasing other people and their wishes of 'suggestions' instead of my own."
"I felt pressured to not follow my own heart and what I wanted to do. [So] do what you know would make you happy. Do what you feel is right for yourself. Live for you!"
Mariel is the daughter of veteran actors Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong. Following in their footsteps, she starred alongside Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa in Coco Martin's directorial debut "Ang Panday", which competed at the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.
