"Kusina Kings" might have a predominantly male cast but its female stars, Nathalie Hart especially, held their own against all that testosterone.
According to the sexy actress, she got along well with the comedy's cast, which is led by Zanjoe Marudo and Empoy Marquez, slipping into the dynamic easily with her "one of the boys" mentality. She was brought up with brothers, Nathalie explained, and is used to the rowdiness of boys.
"I had so much fun kasi tatlo 'yung kapatid kong lalaki, ako lang 'yung babae so I'm used to [boy humor]. Most of my friends are guys too," Nathalie told reporters at the "Kusina Kings" Media Launch last Saturday, July 14.
She's also all for her new film's distinct humor, a brand of comedy we haven't seen in a long time. She said, "Para sa akin, natatawa ako sa male humor kaysa doon sa girl humor, mas gusto ko 'yung pagpapatawa nila. So for me, being with them is normal for me, parang wala lang. 'Yun din 'yung gusto ko na tipong jokes."
"Kusina Kings" tells the story of easy-go-lucky Ronnie (Zanjoe Marudo) and chef Benjie (Empoy Marquez), high school best friends who have been there for each other through thick and thin. As the restaurant they built with their blood, sweat, and dreams struggles to get off the ground, Benjie takes on the Kusina Kings Challenge where they will either win big or go home with nothing.
It also stars Ryan Bang and Maxine Medina. Catch it in cinemas this July 25!
