Master director Olivia M. Lamasan never fails to tug our hearts with her films and today, we continue our journey through some of her best works.

1. “In My Life”

This 2009 drama starring John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano, and Vilma Santos surely made a difference in Philippine cinema for its depiction of the acceptance of homosexuality, which paved the way for later films to be done. The Star for All Seasons also expertly portrayed a woman in a new environment, struggling to move on from her old life and forced to face a reality she never expected.

2. “In the Name of Love”

Angel Locsin and Aga Muhlach’s first team up as love interest worked wonderfully well. They certainly lit up the room with their heated looks and sultry dance moves, and they made it look so effortless too! 💃

3. “The Mistress”

You’d think after 10 years of working together that the spark would eventually disappear, but it just doesn’t seem to be that way for Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. A film made in celebration of their 10th year as a love team, these two stars upped the ante with the tension and intense passion experience between their characters, culminating in one of the most nuanced performances in Philippine cinema. 🙌

4. “Starting Over Again”

2014 brought us a wonderful gift we never knew we needed - Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual together in one movie! This Valentine’s offering pulled at all the right things - first love, breakups, awkward reunions, the what ifs of life. It also brought us the famous line, “I deserved an explanation! I deserved an acceptable reason!” 😭

5. “Barcelona: A Love Untold”

And last on our list, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s first big overseas film! With every movie they make, they show a different, higher level of maturity - not only with the story but also in their acting and KathNiel just nailed this one! ❤

Not to mention Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina’s special participation at the end. 😆
