Jodi Sta. Maria has always been a rather fit actress, but people are starting to worry that she may be too thin. 😬
At her bloggers conference yesterday, June 20, the Daytime Queen assured everyone that she's okay.
“Dun sa mga taong concerned, I just want to assure you that I am okay. I’m not naman ‘yung mga naiisip niyo because I’m thin, that I’m sick or I’m weak - no. It’s just that I have [made] adjustments [to] my diet,” she revealed.
“‘Yung mga kinakain ko every day, it’s more on really fruits and veggies,” she continued. “I refrain from food na matataas ang refined sugar and refined starches. Mas maayos ‘yung food ko ngayon compared to before.”
Jodi also revealed that she is unable to regularly go to the gym for exercise due to her busy schedule, so this new diet is her way of taking care of her body.
“I’m not getting any younger. I want to be able to take really good care of my body,” she said. “So kung may mga taong nagsasabi nga ng ‘She’s so thin,’ thank you for your concern, but I just want to assure you that everything is okay.”
The 36-year-old actress also reacted to her fans’ worries, particularly those that used terms like “anorexic” in expressing their concern.
“I hope lang na we become a bit more careful lang with putting labels on kung ano ‘yung current state ng body ng isang tao,” she said. “Just because a person is thin doesn’t mean that he or she is anorexic. Or it doesn’t mean na ‘pag medyo may weight siya, obese. We have to be more careful with using terms and I hope that we just stop labeling people just because hindi nila nafi-fit ‘yung idea on what a healthy-looking person should look like.”
