If this is just a dream, Janine Berdin definitely doesn't want to wake up!
After her long and challenging journey as one of the six finalists of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" Season 2 on "It's Showtime", Janine,16, a proud Cebuana, can finally embrace the sweet fruit of her labor as she emerged as the trending competition's grand winner, earning a combined total score of 96.11% from the combined judges' and text votes).
Earlier today, June 2, the "Cadets My Girl of Cebu," wowed the madlang people all over the world, not to mention the "It's Showtime" hurados, with four performances that turned the entire Aliw Theater in a massive celebration of Filipino music. For the first round, she performed Sampaguita's "Nosi Balasi," and for the second round, she chose to do a medley of Bamboo's songs.
"Kaya ka nga nag-stand out kasi iba ka," hurado Yeng Constantino expressed. "You go against with the flow. Gumawa ka na ng trono mo sa industriyang ito."
The youngest of the Top 3 finalists conquered the stage with her fellow contestants, Ato Arman of Mindanao (who came in first runner-up) and Steven Paysu of North America (second runner-up).
Meanwhile, in an interview with the press, Janine shared the top three performers that she wishes to have a collaboration with someday: KZ Tandingan, IV of Spades, and Eraserheads.
Janine plans to use her set of prizes (such as the P2-million cash prize, a management contract, and a house and lot) to attend to the needs of her grandmother who is currently under dialysis medication, provide education for her siblings, and help those who supported her during her "Tawag ng Tanghalan" journey.
Believe me when I say, Janine's live performance is 100x better than what you watched on your TV screens earlier. So if you are already hooked into her, you better catch her future shows and concerts.
She is worth it.
