'Nang-trip ako? That's a lie': Diego explains side on issue with TNVS driver

Diego Loyzaga has aired his side regarding the traffic altercation he's been involved in last Friday, June 15. Diego has been accused of kicking and throwing stones at the vehicle of a TNVS (Transportation Network Vehicle Service) driver.

In a report by ABS CBN News yesterday, June 16, Diego explained the story of how he ended up in the situation.

He explained that they were coming from a victory party. He shared, "I was dead tired. [I'm] sleeping, luckily, with the seatbelt on. Nakadaan daw 'yung hagad but before our car stick with the convoy, may bigla daw Adventure na abrupt turn to the left without signaling, without indicator, and cut the convoy."

Diego said that in the given situation, his reaction was only normal.

The "Bloody Crayons" actor related, "Like any other incident that happens on the road, 'pag nagkabanggaan man, 'pag may nangyari man na ganun, baba 'yung dalawang kampo 'di ba para makipag-areglo at 'yun agad ang ginawa ko. Now, like any other person on the road na almost got into an accident, I reacted normally in that situation. Bumaba ako para kausapin ang driver. So pagbaba ko, nakita nung security na may nangyari so hinarangan ako ng security which nakita dun sa video na pinost nila. Wala akong ibang ginagawa dun pero I was trying to go to his car."

He continued, "I did that because nang-trip ako? That's a lie. There was a lot more to the story than just that. I wanted to clear that up because all I've been getting is hate from everybody".

Diego then questioned why didn't the TNVS driver mention to the police that they were involved in a road accident, and instead just accused him of "tripping".

"Ganito na lang, why wouldn't he get down from his car kung wala naman siyang kasalanan? And kung nandoon naman iyong police? It's impossible na he could say na he felt threatened by me kasi may police present that could stop it," Diego said, adding, "Bakit hindi nai-kuwento ng driver na nagkaroon ng aksidente? It's being blown out of proportion."

Diego admitted, "My past hasn't been all that great. I've had troubles in my past. But just because someone screwed up in the past, it doesn't make them the bad person forever".
