Two years after their separation, Tricia Centenera happily told PEP in a recent interview that she and ex-husband Gab Valenciano are now good friends.
“I see him every week,” she revealed, sharing how he always asks to see the dogs. “We’ve managed to become friends - [not] best friends [but] good friends. We’re very amicable.”
"Gab and I got divorced July 29, 2016, two years ago,” she recalled. "I was single for quite a while. I was living in a dark deep of depression, and just trying to think to myself, 'What went wrong?' - I didn’t know what happened.”
She furthered, "It’s just a case of two good people just doing things a little bit too quickly and not really going through the steps of what a relationship needs to go through."

The TV host and blogger shared that she and Gab are in a much better place now, having gone through what they did.
“I think It was just a matter of going through the steps of grieving, accepting that these things happened to me, and [that they were done] by somebody who I thought was supposed to protect me and be there for me for the rest of my life,” she said. “[That the] one person who shouldn’t have turned on me, turned on me.”
"Looking back, it wasn’t a matter of I was so upset that I lost Gab - it was that I failed at something because I’m not used to failing,” she continued. "So, when I kinda wrapped my head around that, I realized I don’t miss him. I just I failed at something that, you know, that I wasn’t prepared to fail at."
What happened when Bea and Zanjoe bonded again
A testament to their new relationship is a blog post Tricia wrote last March 27 in defense of Gab.
“To his haters, my ex-husband, I believe, is a good man who has just made some bad choices, but are any of you completely perfect? I can say I’ve made some pretty poor life choices too but I believe it’s how we bounce back & get back up that’s what’s more important. There’s nothing wrong with failing forward & he is trying his best to be the best version of himself so please let him try,” she wrote.
“Yes, this man broke me,” she continued. “However, I didn’t let it ruin me forever. Through sincere prayer, petition, and forgiveness, I can now call him a friend. Even though the expectation is that as his ex-wife I should hate him, I honestly don’t.”

Tricia has moved on from her marriage with Gab and has entered a new relationship with a Filipino lawyer-slash-real-estate developer.
“My love life is great,” she happily shared. “I have a wonderful boyfriend - we’ve been dating since the end of last year.”
Following her relationship with Gab, who is seven years younger than her, Tricia proves that age is just a number in love when she revealed that her new man is 51 years old. He also has a daughter from a previous marriage whom she has met already.

When asked how her current beau felt about her friendship with her ex-husband, she said, “My boyfriend now is totally fine with it,” adding that her boyfriend is also good friends with his ex-wife.
And after what she experienced with Gab, the blogger admitted that marriage may not be in the cards for her.
“Doing the whole no sex before marriage, get married, then have a baby - that order maybe not in my future,” she said. “I believe that a strong relationship with a solid foundation is more important than walking down the aisle [and] putting a ring on your finger.”
“I know that I love this man,” she continued. “I know that I wanna spend the rest of my life with him, but I don’t feel the need to walk down the aisle with him right now, for me to prove that to him."
