Recording artist Jake Zyrus has opened up about his own account of exhaustion and depression. In a story by PUSH yesterday, May 6, he related:
“I've been there, 'yung talagang emotionally and physically pagod ka talaga, mahirap talaga.
As an artist, Jake shared that work can sometimes be overwhelming and it can tire him down. And he wouldn’t be afraid to call off a show if he thinks he couldn’t do it.
"Pero ako, sa totoo lang, for example kung talagang alam kong physically and emotionally hindi ko kaya, knowing myself, maaari siyang mangyari. But not intentionally mong gagawin 'yun. Mangyayari lang 'yun kung talagang puno na. Kumbaga, you know to yourself na puno na, exhausted ka na,” he said.
Jake took as an example high profile international singers who have cancelled a concert. "Minsan 'di ba, like sina Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, sometimes they cancel shows kapag hindi nila kaya.
The singer, who was previously Charice Pempengco, made these statements in relation to fellow singer Sarah Geronimo's emotional on-stage breakdown during one of her US concerts.
