The nominees for the 66th annual Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) was announced yesterday, May 3, and Star Cinema films and Kapamilya stars bagged nominations for various major awards.
“Love You To The Stars and Back” is nominated for the Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay awards, while the film’s director Antoinette Jadaone is nominated for Best Director.
The film’s lead stars Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto are also nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress awards respectively.
“Seven Sundays” cast also racked up nominations, with Dingdong Dantes for Best Actor, Aga Muhlach for Best Supporting Actor, and Cristine Reyes for Best Supporting Actress.
The dark romance-drama film “Last Night” is also nominated for Best Cinematography, while the horror film “The Ghost Bride” is nominated for Best Visual Effects.
Winners will be chosen by a 10-member jury, composed mainly of movie practitioners, academicians, and critics, which will be spearheaded by no other than the award-winning screenwriter Ricky Lee.
Prior to the award’s night, a Nominee Victory Party will be held on May 18 to congratulate every nominee’s winning moment of getting nominated at the prestigious awards. The award’s night, aptly called Gabi ng Parangal, will be held on June 10 at The Theatre at Solaire.
