Jed Madela has been the subject of bashing and harsh criticism these past few months, but he’s still standing tall despite everything.
The award-winning singer shared on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” yesterday, May 3, that he’s decided not to stress himself over all the fat-shaming comments he receives online.
“Nakakasakit siya, pero totoo eh, hindi naman ako kapayatan,” he said. “Wala na talaga tayong magagawa kasi mataba naman talaga ako. Masaya ka na, ano’ng napala mo? What did you get from hurting someone?”
Jed further gave advice to everyone suffering from body-shaming and cyberbullying.
“Everybody’s a victim of cyberbullying, fat-shaming… surround yourself with the right people, kasi people who know you, who understand you, sila lang ang may right para pagsabihan ka,” he said. “Sa mga dumadaan sa ganito, all you have to do is ignore. If you can block, block.”
He continued that we shouldn’t waste time stooping down to their level.
“Wala naman tayong magagawa kasi ‘pag pinatulan, sinagot natin sila, masaya sila kasi binigyan ng atensyon… kaya ‘wag na lang,” he said.
Jed is set to mentor in the upcoming season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.”
