Acclaimed actress Meryll Soriano couldn’t help but gush about her unico hijo Elijah in her episode of “Tonight With Boy Abunda” last night, May 30.
“My son!” she proudly declared as her source of happiness at the prompting of the King of Talk Boy Abunda.
“He’s 10 and he’s so smart,” she continued. “You know, he’s my partner, so I’m very happy about that. Hindi na siya cute - gwapo na siya.”
Yup, he sure is growing up to be one handsome young man!
Aside from being a brilliant actress, Meryll is also known for being a wonderful mom to her boy, having raised him on her own after she split with husband Bernard Palanca.
“Super best friend,” she described herself as a mother to Eli. “We can talk about anything without judgment. We are [also] very honest with each other.”
But even good relationships have their rocky moments, and as both mother and father to her son, Meryll sometimes struggles to be both.
“I’m very authoritative too. I had a bit of a conflict two years ago when I felt like, ‘Oh my god, ako na mismo ‘yung good cop [at] bad cop,’” she recalled. “Wala [kasi] akong kasama. Minsan, magagalit ako pero sa gabi, kung makalambing ako, eh nanay ako, ‘di ba? So I just had to balance both.”
When asked if Eli showed any interest in entering showbiz, Meryll answered, “He really wants [to].”
“Nagpapatulo (siya) ng luha without sound so I know he has the gift,” she continued. “Kunwari, pinagalitan ko, magpapatulo (siya) ng luha, walang sound. Nasa dugo kasi.”
The 35-year-old actress then revealed that she made a deal with her son - he can enter showbiz once he finishes high school.
Looks like we’ll have to keep an eye on Eli. ;)
