Jed Madela has apologized to fans after facing backlash for his comments about Britney Spears.
On “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” last May 26, Jed mentioned that the iconic pop star’s voice resembles a frog, duck, goose, and goat while teaching Krystal Brimner how to imitate her.
Britney fans took offense at the comment, but Jed explained that it was only his way of describing her voice easily.
“I’m sorry! Please don’t get me wrong. I, too, am Britney fan since day one until now! It was a way of making the kid easily understand how to switch her voice. Didn’t mean anything bad. Sorry ulit kung na offend kayo,” he wrote on Twitter, adding that his comment was in line with the episode’s theme.
“We just had to compare it (voice) to animal sounds kasi ‘yun ang theme, tulad ng ibang icons na in-imitate ng kids,” he said.
Despite the apology, Jed continued to get bashed. However, the singer just let them be, saying that he’s already apologized sincerely for his mistake.
“I have said my piece and my apology. Thanks to those who understood and accepted my apologies,” he said. “To those who continue bashing… If they can’t let it go, it’s not on our shoulders anymore... Pasensya ulit.”
Jed is also part of “It’s Showtime’s” “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment as a juror.
