Former “Boys Over Flowers” star Kim Bum has revealed that he’s suffering from degenerative arthritis.
In a recent report by AllKpop, the actor shared that he’s been receiving treatment for the hereditary illness since his early twenties. He’s 28 years old.
“I've been going to the hospital and receiving treatments for a long time while taking breaks from projects,” he said. “I need to continue going to the hospital in the future as well.”
Kim Bum’s talent agency King Kong by Starship also released a statement following his military enlistment two weeks ago, saying that the actor will be unable to serve as a regular soldier.
“Because of his health issues, Kim Bum has been assigned to a public social worker position. After completing basic training, he will serve as a social worker for about 2 years,” the statement read. “He has tried to overcome the illness through medication and exercising, but he was assigned to be a public service worker.”
Kim Bum was last seen in the 2018 Korean comedy film “Detective K: Secret of the Living Dead.”
