Heart pours all her real feelings out towards pregnancy
Heart Evangelista is super excited to become a mommy!

She revealed in an interview with the Manila Bulletin that she and husband Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero were both surprised to find out they’re expecting only a few months after they decided to seriously try for a baby.

“I thought I would cry, but I laughed because I was excited and I couldn’t believe it,” she said about finding out. “I didn’t think it would come right away—three months from the time I decided.”

Though she’s been very vocal about wanting kids, the actress admitted that she kept putting it off after she and Chiz married in 2015.

“I felt that I needed to concentrate on my career, my painting, plant my seeds here and there. I guess, by doing all that, it would give me time to enjoy my pregnancy,” she explained.

She furthered, “I’m lucky because Chiz didn’t want to rush me. He felt I was a bit too sheltered, [that] I never really got to see the world and experience life, so it would be good for me to travel and open my eyes to the world.”

When asked how she felt about being pregnant, Heart said, “It’s a weird feeling. I’m super terrified and scared but excited at the same time. It’s so new to me.”

“Sometimes, I tell Chiz, ‘I’m worried. How do you think I’m going to be (as a mother)?’ and he’s like ‘You know what? You’re good with your dogs. You adopt them all. If you’re good with your dogs, if that’s how you are with animals, then if it’s your baby, you’ll be so good at being a mom,’” she shared.

Thankfully, despite having been around a lot of babies, the 33-year-old has some experience being a mother to her two stepchildren, Chiz’s twins from his previous marriage.

“I think it prepared me to be a mom. I wasn’t just taking care of one kid, I was taking care of two, and now they live with me, and I’m really blessed,” she said. “They’re just as excited about this baby as I am.”

Though she may not think she’s fully prepared to become a mother, she’s confident that she’ll be a good one.

“I have so much to share. I have so much love to give. I’m excited for my child. It’s going to be a fun life,” she said.

Congratulations, Heart and Chiz!
