Paalam na, Mayari

We’re so sad to see one of the brave “Bagani” go. :(

Mayari, played by Sofia Andres, tragically died on tonight's (April 5) episode after being struck by powerful lightning sent by Sarimaw (Ryan Eigenmann).

A diligent worker and a kind person, Mayari had the purest heart of all the bagani and her loss will surely be felt. </3

But instead of mourning her loss, let’s celebrate her life! Here are a few of Mayari’s best moments:

1. Falling into the arms of Datu (Enzo Pineda) <3

When Mayari was first introduced, she was a servant doing her duties when she accidentally tripped and was caught by the TagaLaot’s leader himself.

2. One woman army

Despite being a servant who spent her days catching fish and making nets, Mayari obviously learned how to fight and showed her skills when she courageously fought intruders to save Datu.

3. Gracious host

On the baganis' journey to the babaylan’s home, Lakas (Enrique Gil), Ganda (Liza Soberano), Lakam (Matteo Guidicelli), and Dumakulem (Makisig Morales) took a detour to the home of the fishermen and Mayari welcomed them with a big smile and open arms.

4. A good friend

Mayari tried to help Ganda sort out her feelings between her two suitors Lakam and Lakas. Even heroes need some girl talk! ;)

5.  Becoming a bagani

Apo (Diether Ocampo) graciously bestowed upon Mayari the power of the Kataw (Ahron Villena) which allows her to protect anything.

6. Staying true to their duty

Mayari didn’t even have to think about Lakam’s offer to join his side in a battle against Lakas’ tribe - she refused it outright because she knew it went against their responsibility as a bagani.

Mayari was sadly unable to see her dream of an equal world come true, but she can count on the others to continue the fight.

So long, Mayari. ;(
