Kris Aquino had a victorious homecoming to Star Cinema yesterday, April 20, and while she exuded confidence from head to toe, she admitted she had jitters the night before
“My Ate (Ballsy) really had to give me a pep talk,” she told the press. “Sabi ko, ‘Ate, it’s so hard. What if I disappoint?’ Sabi niya, ‘Ano ka ba? Ngayon ka pa ba matatakot?’”
Kris explained that she was nervous because coming back to Star Cinema was like getting back together with an ex.
“Siyempre ‘pag magkakabalikan kayo, you don’t know what to expect. You’ve both grown in separate directions and you want to know if ‘yung directions na ‘yun will meet,” she said.
But Kris affirmed that she made the right decision, adding that she had to grow so much before she could come back.
“Marami akong pinatunayan sa sarili ko, and it feels good na sa pagbalik ko... meron akong dinadala,” she said.
As for her upcoming movie with Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto titled “I Love You, Hater,” the Queen of All Media had nothing but excitement for it.
“When I heard na this is Inang (Olive Lamasan’s) pet project... and this is the only opportunity na somehow, I’ll work under her... sabi ko I’ll go for it!” she gushed.
Kris didn’t say any more details about the movie, but shared it’s something that completely fits her state of mind right now.
“Sa almost two years na wala ako dito, marami akong natutunan about myself... meron akong madadala sa kwentong ‘to,” she said. “‘Yung character ko is very, very true to who I am right now so I’m so excited for this.”
“I Love You, Hater” is directed by Giselle Andres. It is coming to cinemas very soon.
