e all have our bad days, and international star Amy Schumer is no different.
Speaking to Jennifer Brett of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the actress-comedian revealed that she, like her "I Feel Pretty" character Renee Bennet, struggles with feelings of insecurity.
She said, "I’ve been there. I’m not done being there. I’ve had long periods of time, especially in college, where I didn’t understand at all where my worth came from and it seemed like it was all about being attractive."
She added, "I was lucky that I realized quickly that’s not what it’s about at all [but] I still have those days."
According to Amy, portraying Renee as she grapples with and overcomes her insecurities, was both difficult in therapeutic.
She enthused, "When I was playing Renee (having) really low self-esteem, that was tough, being that vulnerable. The confident stuff was really kind of fun and good for me."
"I Feel Pretty" tells the story of a regular woman who wakes up from a SoulCycle accident believing she is the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. With this newfound confidence, she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly.
