Kim, ibinunyag ang karakter na pinakamalapit sa puso niya!
Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu explained how her character Mayen in the horror film "The Ghost Bride" differs from Carmel Monseratt, her role in her new flick "DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away".
At the Grand Media Launch of "DOTGA" last Thursday, April 12, Kim first explained the similarities between Mayen and Carmel.
"Parehas naman po sila [Mayen at Carmel] na gagawin ang lahat para sa pamilya, which is 'yun po 'yung pinakagusto ko po na i-portray," Kim said, adding that the two protagonists would do anything for their elders. "Ito [si Carmel], gagawin niya rin ang lahat para sa lola niya. So medyo malapit po sa akin 'tong role na 'to," she furthered.
As for the differences, Kim pointed out, "Ang kaibahan lang po nila, is si Mayen, mag-isa niyang tinahak 'yung problema niya, sinolo niya lahat, nagdesisyon siya mag-isa."
"Ito naman si Carmel, meron siyang mga kaibigan saka sobrang jolly siya Si Mayen, serious na laging kabado, si Carmel naman fun lang na maraming barkada, na merong pinsan, and merong lola. Fun si Carmel, and si Mayen [naman] matured," she furthered.
Catch Kim as she plays Carmel in "DOTGA"!
"DOTGA" starts with the story of paranormal expert Carmel Monseratt (Kim Chiu). Wanting to save the house of her beloved grandmother from being sequestered, Carmel and her “bebest” best friend Jerald “Jeje” Zee-Yan (Ryan Bang) have decided to form a squad of ghost busters with their misfits buddies Bagang (Pepe Herrera), Ponzi (Lassy Marquez), and Basha (Moi Bien) in order to meet both ends.
One day, when they no longer have customers due to their modus going viral, Carmel meets a rich architect and dashing eligible bachelor Jack Colmenares (Enzo Pineda) who wants her and her squad to exorcize his house of all the ghosts inside it – real malevolent ghosts! – in exchange for a hefty amount of money.
Despite the fear, Carmel and Jeje together with their squad accept the job offer as their last act. Little do they know this will lead to all of them being entrapped inside Jack’s house with extremely pesky and spiteful ghosts, screaming and running for their lives, and with Carmel ultimately facing the horror of the truth long hidden from her.
"DOTGA" is directed by Tony Y. Reyes. Catch it in cinemas tomorrow, April 18!
