ABS-CBN Films, Star Cinema has joined forces with Singaporean firm Aurora Media to take the upcoming Mikhail Red horror movie "Eerie" to Singapore.
ABS-CBN executives, Star Cinema Managing Director Olivia Lamasan, Executive Adviser for Cinema Malou N. Santos, and ABS-CBN Chief Financial Officer Aldrin Cerrado formally signed distribution contracts with Aurora Media Executive Producer Gin Kai Chan today, April 17.
"When I first heard about the project, I was very impressed, not just with the story, but also with the director, Mikhail Red. His past few films (like 'Birdshot') have been well-received in different parts of the world and 'Eerie' stands out as another really strong project that we got interested in," Chan said in an interview with the press after the event.
He continued, "But of course, we are all the more excited that ABS-CBN is the lead producer, the lead company on this project because ABS-CBN is the giant in the Philippines, so it really is a privilege for me to work with [them]. So definitely, that was one of the biggest draws for me when it comes to 'Eerie.'"
According to Chan, Singapore-based global content development company 108 Media will also be involved in distributing "Eerie" in other territories.
"Eerie" stars Charo Santos, Bea Alonzo, Maxene Magalona, and Jake Cuenca.  It was produced by Pelikula Red and Media East and will be distributed locally by Star Cinema.
