Kim Chiu and Ryan Bang's new horror-comedy flick "DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away" also features the young, cute pairing of Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber (MayWard). The two newbies, who are much anticipated after their debut movie "Loving in Tandem," has been getting a lot of praises for their attitude and professionalism.
At the Grand Media Launch of the Tony Y. Reyes-helmed movie, Kim and Ryan shared what it's like to have worked with the two for "DOTGA".
Ryan shared, "Nakasama ko sila sa 'Loving In Tandem,' ako 'yung kuya nila [dun]. Sobrang close kami."
So when they were shooting for "DOTGA," Ryan found the familiarity he has with the two to be an advantage. "First day pa lang, nag-adjust naman, naging close kami lahat."
He also cited an improvement he saw in MayWard! "Sa 'Loving in Tandem,' umabot sila mga take 12, pero dito halos lahat take 1 sila. Nagulat ako, hindi ko alam anong kinain nila. After ng 'Loving In Tandem' saka dito sa 'DOTGA,' sobrang galing [na] nila."
Meanwhile, according to Kim, Direk Tony doesn't rehearse them much before a take. "Para 'yung nakakatawang [scene], fresh. 'Yung parang kakapanganak lang ng joke. Ayaw niya masyadong i-rehearse nang i-rehearse."
Then Kim revealed that this made Maymay and Edward nervous!
She said, "Kinabahan sila. Sabi ko, 'sige lang, go lang.' [Tapos] nakuha naman nila kaagad."

"DOTGA" starts with the story of paranormal expert Carmel Monseratt (Kim Chiu). Wanting to save the house of her beloved grandmother from being sequestered, Carmel and her “bebest” best friend Jerald “Jeje” Zee-Yan (Ryan Bang) have decided to form a squad of ghost busters with their misfits buddies Bagang (Pepe Herrera), Ponzi (Lassy Marquez), and Basha (Moi Bien) in order to meet both ends.
One day, when they no longer have customers due to their modus going viral, Carmel meets a rich architect and dashing eligible bachelor Jack Colmenares (Enzo Pineda) who wants her and her squad to exorcize his house of all the ghosts inside it – real malevolent ghosts! – in exchange for a hefty amount of money.
Despite the fear, Carmel and Jeje together with their squad accept the job offer as their last act. Little do they know this will lead to all of them being entrapped inside Jack’s house with extremely pesky and spiteful ghosts, screaming and running for their lives, and with Carmel ultimately facing the horror of the truth long hidden from her.
"DOTGA" is directed by Tony Y. Reyes. Catch it in cinemas tomorrow, April 18!
