Enrique opens up on that 'very hard scene' of Lakas and Ganda

Kapamilya actor Enrique Gil admitted in an interview with ABS-CBN News that he had difficulty shooting the farewell scene between his character Lakas and Liza Soberano’s character Ganda in the April 6 episode of “Bagani.”

“Hindi ko siya mapuntahan pero nandun lang siya, nakikita ko siya, but I can’t reach her. That was a very hard scene to take,” he revealed. “We had two days to shoot. Napakahirap gawin nun.”

The 26-year-old actor shared that he and Liza shot the scene with the portal face-to-face which made it easier for him to cry. But the shots without Liza around?

"Some of the other shots, we took it [na] wala na siya so it was just me, just looking at nothing. It was harder for me to get it,” he said. “But the scene where you saw me and her doon sa bundok, magkaharap talaga kami noon so it was easier for me to cry kasi ramdam mo ‘pag magkaharap kayo. Pero ‘pag wala siya dun, it’s harder to get the emotions. ‘San ako manggagaling?’ you know?”

Despite the challenges it posed, the two were able to convey the emotion needed for the scene perfectly. With some prompting, Enrique revealed his and Liza’s secret to heavily emotional scenes.

“We just say one word. A keyword, parang, mom, family. Isang ganun lang,” he shared.

He furthered, “We say one thing and both of us cry over it. We’re so in-sync sometimes na ‘pag may nasabi akong isa, alam kong mapapaiyak na ‘to. Kaya ko na siyang paiyakin sa isang keyword lang.”

Liza’s Ganda was recently seen in an episode of the fantaserye, having woken in a mysterious forest, so don’t give up on her yet! ;)
