(UPDATED) It is a sad day for the entertainment industry as one its greatest gems, seasoned actor Bernardo Bernado, has died today, March 8.
He was 73 years-old and has been acting, on film, TV, and theater, since the golden age.
According to a report by Interaksyon, Bernardo requested for prayers as he dealt with pancreatic tumor at the press conference for the film last January. However, the real cause of his death has yet to be revealed.
His wake is at St. Peter's Chapel in Quezon City, said a DZMM report.
One of his most recent performances was in the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture “Ang Larawan”.
Meanwhile, included in his most memorable roles was Steve Carpio in the beloved sitcom "Home Along Da Riles" that starred the late Comedy King Dolphy.
Bernardo was also part of the Berlinale-winning Lav Diaz film "Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis," with John Lloyd Cruz and Piolo Pascual.
