Geraldino “Dino” Quizon, son of the late Comedy King Dolphy with actress Gloria Smith, has died at 45 years old.
Dino is one of the Dolphy’s 18 children, along with Nicole and Zia Quizon, who have both written him a heartbreaking farewell on Instagram last Monday, March 5.
Zia said that she’s still in shock over her brother’s passing, but hopes that he finds peace by their father’s side.
“Goodbye, Kuya Dino. I still can't believe you're gone. You were still so young and had so much living left to do. And you were so full of life. And love. And laughter. I hope you find peace. I hope you and Papa find solace in each other's arms. We know you missed him dearly. And now we'll all miss you,” said Zia.
She also remembered the dream Dino had days after their dad died in 2012. “Naalala ko nung pauwi ka na ng States. Nung nailibing na natin si Papa. Na napanaginipan mo siya. Nakaupo sa silya niya. Sa tabi mo kung saan ka natutulog noon. Na parang andun pa siya. Na parang totoo.”
Zia continued, “Ibinilin mo sa akin na ingatan ko ang silyang ‘yun. Andito pa siya sa akin. Na sa may bintana. Minsan nga, dun tumutungtong ang aso ko. Hinihintay akong umuwi. Nag-aabang. Ngayon, mag-aabang na din ako dito. Na mapanaginipan din kita. Na makapagpaalam nang maayos. Na makita ka muli. O magising man sana. Kasi parang hindi totoo.”
Meanwhile, Nicole said that their family would never be the same because of their Kuya Dino’s absence.
“I can’t believe that the last time I saw you may jawline pa ako. And I can’t believe that would be the very last time. Will always miss you, Kuya Dino ❤ Our sibling barangay will be a little less crazy and a little less funny without you. Rest in Power,” Nicole wrote.
Zia is Dolphy’s only biological daughter with Zsa Zsa Padilla. Nicole, on the other hand, was adopted by Dolphy when she was still a baby.
The cause of Dino’s death has yet to be revealed.
