Angel, napaiyak ni Robin!

Angel Locsin was left in tears after exchanging comments with her fellow judges over a sexy audition piece on “Pilipinas Got Talent” last Saturday, March 3.

It was a “carwash with dance” number by a group of girls who call themselves “Play Girls” and it bothered Angel so much that she just had to press the buzzer on them mid-performance.

The award-winning actress later explained to the girls that she didn’t like the way they presented themselves, particularly the costume they used that left very little to the imagination.

“Parang hindi ko kaya na makita nagsasayaw kayo ng naka-underwear para lang sa'min. Masyado kayong magaganda at masyado niyo 'tong pinaghirapan para gawin 'yan,” Angel told the members of Play Girls.

“Kung may talent kayo, 'yun 'yung pakita niyo sa'min. Talent ang hinahanap namin dito, hindi katawan. Kaya ko kayo binuzz, ayokong ma-objectify kayo. Masyado akong nagmamalasakit sa inyo para i-go ko 'to at patuloy kayo panoorin ng mga kalalakihan na ginagawa 'yan,” she added.

Vice Ganda also questioned if that kind of performance could even be considered as “talent.”

"Nagugulimahanan ako if carwashing in your underwear is really a talent. Pero kung talent, kahit naka-pajama ka or naka-belo ka, kahit ano'ng suot mo, makikita at makikita 'yung talent mo,” said Vice.

But the box office comedian later clarified that he wasn’t judging the girls based on their costume, as he believes that everyone has the right to express themselves however they want. He just didn’t think what they showed is worth the two million peso grand prize.

“Your wardrobe or what you are wearing right now is part of your self-expression. Lahat tayo may karapatan kung na i-express ang sarili natin. If you feel comfortable bilang mga babae, karapatan niyo kung paano niyo gustong i-express ang inyong mga sarili. Basta ang mahalaga hindi niyo nava-violate at walang vuma-violate sa mga karapatan niyo. Pero talent-wise for me, I don't think that's enough to two million pesos here in 'PGT',” said Vice.

When Robin got his turn to address the “PGT” hopefuls, he asked them a question to spell out if they were just being misunderstood.

"Meron akong tanong,” he started. “Ginagawa niyo ba 'yan dahil gusto niyo or labag sa kalooban niyo? Kasi mahalaga 'to, para mabura sa kaisipan ng mga ibang judges na kayo ay napilitan."

But Angel cut him off and said, "Wala naman nag-iisip na napilitan, Kuya Binoy."

So the action star rephrased his question then asked again, "Gusto niyo ba na ang mga kalalakihan ay humahanga sa inyo?"

"Seryoso ka?!" Angel cried out next to him.

Turning away from the microphone, the “Unexpectedly Yours” actor whispered, "Pakinggan muna natin sila.”

He continued, "'Yung sinasabi nila sa inyo, magandang point 'yun. Si Angel lalo, intindihin niyo si Angel kasi advocacy niya 'yan. Women's rights. Kaya niya sinasabi 'yan, para proteksyunan kayo. Walang against sa inyo, lahat ng sinabi nila sa inyo pabor sa inyo."

In the end, the Play Girls received a “yes” from Robin and Freddie “FMG” Garcia, and a “no” from Vice and Angel.

"Obviously, very entertaining 'yung ginawa ninyo. Siguro hindi lang ito para sa'kin. Pasensya na,” she explained.

When the girls walked out, Angel was showed wiping down tears while being consoled by Robin.

Hosted by Toni Gonzaga and Billy Crawford, “Pilipinas Got Talent” airs weekends after “Home Sweetie Home”.
