What happened to Arturo?

“#GOALS!”

We can’t tell how many times we have seen that hashtag or have heard people say it.

But who can tell us what it really means? We thought we knew for sure, but after our little chat with MYX VJ Turs Daza, we realized we've been wrong all along.

First thing’s first, this guy likes to take matters into his own hands. Especially, if we’re talking about where his life is leading to. Turs is not letting anything push him anywhere he doesn’t want to be in. Not even the constellations have that power over him.

“I don’t like it ‘pag sinasabi nila, ‘Don’t do these things’ or ‘Don’t do that thing’, kasi parang you’re just limiting yourself based on the assumption of others. For me, personally, I would just rather be able to make my own decisions based on myself and not have to rely on some other force telling me what to do,” he told us in an interview after a MYX Awards 2018 announcement event last February.

True enough, Turs is taking the first step towards his dreams, to become an actor and follow the footsteps of his brother Franco Daza, cousin Isabelle Daza, and aunt Gloria Diaz.

“Nasa acting workshops ako for Star Magic so they’re helping me with that. As of now, wala pa kong acting gigs. Pero I would like to try it, kasi gusto ko talaga ‘yung craft. And I want it something I can improve. I wanna be good at it before I actually start acting. Mapapa-practice ko talaga guys. Abangan niyo,” he shared.

It may seem like Turs just started to develop an interest with acting, but a peek into his childhood tells us that he has always had it in him.

“May acting stuff ako dati, maybe one or two shows dati sa grade school.” He added, “Actually, ngayon mas focused ako ngayon sa hosting. Meron din ako isang show for S&A (ABS-CBN Sports and Action) for UAAP, I host other random stuff. But I really wanna try acting.”

This summer, the 24-year-old is returning to his hometown in Vancouver, Canada, where an important question by his high school buddies is waiting to be answered.

“Papunta ako sa Vancouver kasi taga-doon ako. Mga six years na ko dito, ‘di pa ko nakakapunta doon. So lahat ng mga kaklase ko sa high school, they’re asking me, ‘What happened to Arturo?’ Kasi Arturo ako doon eh, si Turs lang dito sa Pilipinas,” said he.

A little more digging taught us a lot more about this go-getter and what really caught us was his Twitter bio that reads: “Work hard, Work smart. Work consistently.”

Well, with an attitude like that, a lot more can really happen for Arturo. And guess what? The same goes for anyone who can get to this level of mindset.

So, ladies and gents, that’s #GOALS for you.
