Chinita Princess Kim Chiu adds another horror film to her list. After "The Healing" and "Ghost Bride," Kim stars in the horror-comedy feature -- "DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away".
Together with the 27-year-old actress in the movie are Ryan Bang, Lassy, Moi Bien, and Pepe Herrera -- all five of them form the "espiritista" group "Pektus".
At the sidelines of their pictorial for "DOTGA" last Sunday, March 25, Kim was asked about how she feels now that she is tagged as the next queen of horror or scream queen, following Kris Aquino's horror movie legacy.
"Ah, hindi. Kung ano lang ‘yung ibigay na project ng Star Cinema. I’m very happy and very honored na pinagkakatiwalaan nila ako ng mga ganitong projects and iba-ibang taste, iba-ibang feel every movie. So, sobra akong excited," she said.
Meanwhile, Ryan is overwhelmed over his first film lead.
He expressed his gratitude, saying, "Kasi, of course, movie po [siya], ‘yung ako ‘yung [bida]. Kaya sobrang overwhelmed po ako at natutuwa ako. Tsaka syempre kay Kim [na] napakaganda at syempre napakabait. At kahit wala siya dito, mabait, napakaganda, syempre kinakabahan [ako]. Tapos parang medyo may honor ba."
"DOTGA" will also feature "Bagani" actor Enzo Pineda, who intrigued us with his character in the movie.
Enzo said, "Basically, ako ang magbibigay ng mission kay Kim. Babayaran ko siya ng one million pesos para ayusin ‘yung mga nangyayari sa bahay ko."
Directed by Tony Y. Reyes, "DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away" will also star Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber. It opens in cinemas soon!
