Juris, Jed stay with Star Music!
It’s a blessed first day of March for Star Music as OPM icons Juris and Jed Madela renewed their contracts with the label yesterday, March 1, just in time for their 15th year in the industry.

Held in separate sessions, the two were very glad to still be part of the family’s powerhouse roster. Juris, who is now dubbed as the “Queen of Spotify” was revealed to be the most streamed and downloaded artist in the streaming app.

“Nagulat talaga ako but of course I'm very happy. Na-touch ako kasi nag-rest ako ng two years din. Nakakatuwa lang,” she expressed.

Because of her effortless success, Juris revealed that she will release an album along with a concert as part of her 15th anniversary and as a way to thank the fans in return. Star Music audio content head Jonathan Manalo also shared that the album will be composed mainly of the crowd favorites.

“Nag-research kami talaga kung ano 'yung most streamed songs niya sa Spotify and we will duplicate those successes sa album na 'to. So naghahanap kami ng songs na pang-senti, pang-hugot.” He added, “Plano [rin] namin ‘yung mga songs na irerecord sa album will be future theme songs of coming teleseryes.”

2005 World Championships of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) winner Jed Madela also expressed his gratitude during the contract signing, as he was also given the opportunity to handle Star Music’s newest label “Prime Music.”

Prime Music is a label that focuses on artists who have competed internationally and needed a break when they get back in the country.

“Some of you might know, I'm connected with WCOPA. We bring them to the States to compete, to represent the country. When they win, pag-uwi dito, nahihirapan pa rin sila. So sinabi ko, might as well try to help them," Jed explained.

He also shared that there are already talents lined-up for the new label, with most of them being former WCOPA contestants from different years.

While handling Prime Music, Jed will also be busy working on his series of singles where one song will be released every month until November, in which they plan to hold his album launch and concert.

We can’t wait for what’s more in store this year for these two, so stay tuned! :)
