Fast-rising singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre admitted that her boyfriend Jason Marvin is the reason why she was able to finish her song "Tagpuan".
In a story by PEP yesterday, March 11, Moira said that the title "Tagpuan" came from a spoken word poetry she heard from Brian Vee several years ago. She then wanted to write a "hugot" song inspired by it. However, two years have passed, but her composition remained unfinished.
That is until Moira gazed at Jason and it's like the words just came to her. She said, "Until one time I was in the car with Jason and we were driving in SCTEX, papunta kami sa parents ko sa Olongapo. Pagtingin ko sa kanya, nasulat ko na lang 'yung song in 10 minutes kasi na-realize ko [na] what I meant as a heartbreak song is actually a song about hope."
The "Titibo-tibo" singer then explained the newfound meaning behind "Tagpuan".
"'Yung first part niya, may line dun na, 'Bakit 'di maitama ang tadhana?' Tapos 'yung chorus niya, '...at nakita kita sa tagpuan.' Tapos, 'yun pala, while nagpe-pray ako at puro reklamo ang binibigay ko kay God, on the other side pala, may nagpe-pray sa Kanya for me," Moira said.
The 24-year-old Moira is also ready if Jason will ask for her hand in marriage.
"Yes po, I feel like as a young person, a lot of people kasi in my generation are afraid of commitments, [but] I’m not afraid of commitment. If he proposes, I’ll say yes because I’m sure and I know naman na I can pursue this career and I can pursue even better because we’re in the same industry," she said.
Moira and Jason are friends for seven years before they finally became an official couple.
