She’s talented, she’s got a pure heart, and boy, is she beautiful.
There are many things to admire about Liza Soberano, but the most important of them all is how hard she worked for where she is now.
She wasn’t born into a showbiz clan or given a big break at an early age. Liza actually had to go through auditions and had her fair share of rejection. And of course, we all know where that persistence got her.
Now, she’s one of the biggest stars of her generation, but she hasn’t forgotten about her humble beginnings. In fact, she gladly shared a memory from her days of attending go-sees as an aspiring model.
"I used to take the MRT and LRT talaga when I didn't have the car. Actually, nung nagvi-VTR (video tape recording) ako when I was modeling, I was only 12 [years-old] and I go with my tita and we used to take the MRT,” she said on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” online exclusive.
There was even that one time when she had no choice but to brave the rain just to get to her audition.
“May time pa nga na bumaba po kami ng MRT, tapos sobrang umuulan nun, eh wala kaming pang-taxi. So we had to run dun sa sakayan ng jeep, nabasa ako. Dumating ako sa VTR basa ako ng ulan,” she added.
When she finally got her break, the “Bagani” actress also tried looking herself up on Google to see if her stage name would come up.
"Nung baguhan ako, I searched myself on Google to see if I would appear. Because they changed my name right? If I would appear as Hope or Liza. I appeared as Liza, pero if you go to WikiPedia it says my real name,” she explained.
Catch her in “Bagani” with Enrique Gil, Matteo Guidicelli, Makisig Morales, Sofia Andres and more every night on Primetime Bida.
Also, watch out for Liza as the iconic superheroine Darna in a film directed by Erik Matti.
