Singer Leila Alcasid revealed at the Star Magic Circle 2018 media launch that she plans on continuing her education despite her foray into showbiz.
“Nag-aral po ako sa University of Sydney sa Australia,” she shared in a report by PUSH. “Tapos I took one year off, parang gap year, pero babalik po ako sana sa the incoming semester - sana sa UP (University of the Philippines) kung kaya ko.”
Leila believes it’s important to get a good education, and not just as a fallback to her career.
“You know, showbiz isn't always super stable,” she said. “Sometimes, you know, life happens. Sometimes you need to go in a different direction. So I think, studying for me, is super, super important.”
She furthered, “Sayang naman talaga if you have the opportunity to study and you don't take the opportunity kasi there are people who can't go to school.”
The talented daughter of Ogie Alcasid and his first wife Michelle van Eimeren recently released her first single under Star Magic entitled “Completely In Love.”
