KZ at Jessie J, super close na?

Stop what you’re doing, because we just might have gotten the newest power duo!

KZ Tandingan didn’t spare any details when asked about her backstage buddy and fellow “Singer 2018” contestant Jessie J in a report by PEP last Sunday, March 11.

The “X Factor Philippines” champ shared that she found a companion in the British popstar as they were the only English-speaking participants on the show.

The rooms they are staying in are right next to each other as well, but that still doesn’t help KZ from getting star struck when talking to the “Price Tag” hit-maker.

“Tapos, ‘yung rooms namin magkatabi, na kapag kumatok ako sa dingding, dingding din niya, so dinig din niya,” she said. “Nakakalula pa rin na I get to talk to her 'pag nagte-taping.”

The two women have been performing back-to-back so that gives them time to bond. KZ also revealed that Jessie likes to bring a tray of snacks backstage and offers them to everyone.

The Soul Supreme once beat Jessie J on the international singing competition when she first joined as a challenger, and she’s proud to say that Jessie was actually the one who motivated her to give it all.

“Nung first time namin na nag-meet, bago ako kumanta ng 'Rolling In The Deep,' ‘yung performance ko nun, napalaking parte siya nun, kung gaano ako nanggigil sa stage ay dahil na-meet ko siya prior to the performance,” she said.

KZ admitted that she was anxious when she first got on the show, but meeting Jessie took all of her worries away.

She continued, “Siyempre, I’m in a territory na wala pang Filipino ang nakaka-experience ever, walang magtuturo kung ano ang dapat kong gawin kasi ako 'yung pinakauna. Pero nung nag-usap kami sabi niya, 'Just sing your heart out. Don't let the rankings define you.'”

This newfound friendship made KZ forget that she’s in the competition as well. However, she assured her fans that she’s still in it to win.

“Tsaaka naniniwala ako na if you’re in a race and you’re focusing not on your path, nagfo-focus ka sa path ng iba mong kasabay, mas lalo kang may chance na mag-drift, mas lalo kang may chance na mabunggo.”

She added, “Focus on your craft.
