Tom Rodriguez is not one who shies away from daring roles. He’s done a handful throughout his career, but according to him, he’s never done as risqué as his work in the film “The Significant Other”.
At the film’s pocket press conference last Tuesday, February 6, the former Kapamilya actor shared that he did things for this project that he thought he never would.
"I think if not the boldest, it's definitely up there. There are things that I've only done in this film,” said Tom.
Tom is playing opposite not only one but two leading ladies in “The Significant Other,” portrayed by Lovi Poe and Erich Gonzales, no less.
Tom, who has worked with Lovi before, said that she really stepped up to it as well, to the point where she got him to do things that weren’t even supposed to be on the scene.
"Ang sarap katrabaho ni Lovi because she's always so giving and when she's in the role, you end up doing things that aren't even on the script,” said Tom.
He added, “It's the character. Sometimes 'yung mga internal dialogue, nailalabas. You get goosebumps, even at the scene, it's very emotional and very hard to do. Imbes na drained ka, you get an adrenaline rush. I can't believe. 'Did I just do that?!'"
“The Significant Other” follows the story of a rising fashion model (Erich) who catches up and becomes BFFs with her catwalk idol (Lovi). But all hell breaks lose when they realize that they are in love with the same man (Tom).
Directed by Joel Lamangan, it's coming to cinemas this February 21.
