“They beat each other up for a scene until things got way too real, then they ended up hating each other after.”
That’s what the gossips said, but in reality, the drama only lasted as soon as director Joel Lamangan yelled “Cut!” on that day at the set of “The Significant Other” and lead actresses Erich Gonzales and Lovi Poe snapped out of the tension.

An incident really did happen though that left Erich with a bleeding finger. "'Yung kamay niya sumabit sa earrings ko,” Lovi shared at the film’s pocket press conference last Tuesday, February 6.
But she added that things like that really do happen every time especially when actors really get into their roles. "Ang bawat pag-arte naman is reaction 'yun with each other."
All is well between her and Erich and Lovi are pleased with how the movie turned out. "Kami ni Erich we're very, very good kasi kahit gano'n 'yung mga nagyari sa mga scenes, hindi maiiwasan talaga na you get carried away lalung-lalo na 'pag sineseryoso mo 'yung craft mo.”
“So I'm very happy na sa ganitong klase ng pelikula, I'm with Tom [Rodriguez], I'm with Erich pa, tapos si Joel Lamangan 'yung nag-direk, so parang it's just the perfect combination ng lahat. No one's doing it na hindi tinototoo. Gano'n kasi 'pag ramdam mo eh,” Lovi continued.
Yes, after getting very physical for that one scene, the two women remain friends. In fact, Erich even has a special nickname for Lovi.
"Gano'n naman po talaga bawat scenes eh. Sinabi din namin ni Erich, 'That was pretty intense.' It’s part of our job. Nagkakausap kami ni Erich. Nagkakausap kami palagi. Nakakatawa nga siya kasi Lodi Poe ang tawag niya sa'kin. She's super nice,” Lovi ended.
“The Significant Other” follows the story of a rising fashion model (Erich Gonzales) who catches up and becomes BFFs with her catwalk idol (Lovi Poe). But all hell breaks lose when they realize that they are in love with the same man (Tom Rodriguez).
Directed by Joel Lamangan, the film is coming to cinemas this February 21.
