Erich Gonzales seems to be the kind of girl that doesn’t need anyone to take care of her. She’s got her own back.
Nevertheless, there are still people who look after Erich. Because while she is tough, she’s also the kind that you would instantly feel warmth for and she will treat you back with love.
Queen of All Media Kris Aquino is one of those people that have always remained by Erich’s side. At the media conference of her upcoming show “The Blood Sisters” last Tuesday, February 6, the Kapamilya star shared how Kris texts her tips when she’s doing press appearances.
"We keep in touch. She checks on me. Sabi nga niya, 'Grabe. Stage mother ako.' May mga reminders siya sa'kin today. 'Stop giggling, okay? Para serious actress.' Sabi ko, 'Ate, parang mahirap 'yan. Parang 'yan na talaga. Alam na nila 'yan, wala tayong tinatago.' Sobrang sweet, talagang nandiyan lang po siya lagi to support me,” said Erich.
She added that their friendship lasts because it has never felt forced and that they really do care for each other, including Kris’ sons.
"Siguro 'yung pagiging authentic lang talaga. Siguro hindi lang namin fino-force 'yung mga bagay na pretend tayo na we're close. Talagang I genuinely care for her kids, sila Kuya (Josh Aquino) and Bimb (James ‘Bimby’ Aquino-Yap), to the point na kahit wala siya sa house, I go visit them. Just to let them know nandito si Ate, mag-spend time lang with them. Through good times and bad times, we're just there for each other,” said the actress.
Erich is playing triplets on “The Blood Sisters” and who else could give her the best advice about this than Claudine Barretto? The Optimum Star herself played as triplets in the 1999 hit teleserye “Saan Ka Man Naroroon”.
"Mama Pretty, Ate Claudine, napag-usapan namin 'tong project na 'to, kasi siya 'yung gumawa nung 'Saan Ka Man Naroroon' before. Ang sabi lang niya sa akin parang, 'Baby, kailangan talaga do your best. Stay sane.' Kasi nakakabaliw siya. In one day, I get to portray two or three characters in one day. Change makeup, change hair, change everything. 'Yung personality ko sobrang magkaiba talaga sila. So importante talaga na alam mo kung sino ka,” she shared.
Erich is set to heat up the big screen as well in the upcoming film “The Significant Other” with Lovi Poe and Tom Rodriguez.
“The Significant Other” follows the story of a rising fashion model (Erich) who catches up and becomes BFFs with her catwalk idol (Lovi). But all hell breaks lose when they realize that they are in love with the same man (Tom).
Directed by Joel Lamangan, the film is coming to cinemas this February 21.
