Actress Sunshine Cruz revealed in an interview with PUSH that she wants all three of her daughters - Angelina, Sam, and Chesca - to finish their schooling.
“If may choice ako yes, gusto ko ganun sana kasi for me education is really important,” she said. “Kahit nga ako, kahit 40 years old ako, tinapos ko talaga ‘yung BA Psychology sa Arellano (University) kahit mahirap kasi gusto kong ipakita sa anak ko na hindi lang ako puro salita na ‘mag-aral kayo.’ I wanted to prove to them na kahit single mom ako, hirap sa trabaho, kaya ko pa ring magtapos ng pag-aaral.”
Sunshine received her bachelor’s degree last August.

Though she wants her children to focus on their education, she is open to letting them venture into showbiz. Her eldest daughter Angelica is currently a recording artist while still in school.
“She’s 16 years old pero focused kasi [niya] senior high, focused sa studies. Choice [din] nila na mag-focus muna sa studies at pasundot-sundot muna sa singing and guestings si Angelina,” she said.
She furthered, “With regards to Sam and Chesca, 13 and 12 pa lang, babies pa eh so wala pa naman, but given the right project and opportunity, why not? Blessing ‘yan para sa kanila.”
The actress still has her own dreams of pursuing her master’s degree, but admits that those plans are on hold so she can focus on her kids.
“Hindi ko pa afford (mag-master’s),” she said. “I need to save for the future of my kids kasi medyo maraming oras ang kakailanganin natin para mag-focus ako kung mag ma-masters ako.”
She hopes to become a psychologist before she’s 50 years old.
Sunshine is part of the primetime teleserye “Wildflower,” which is down to its last week.
