Richard at Sarah, tinuturuan na si Zion na maging responsable
Zion has been Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati’s only child these past years, and with their second one on the way, the two are doing their best to help with his transition to becoming a kuya.

The Kapamilya actor shared on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” last February 26 that he and his fiancee try to involve their son in all their preparations for the arrival of Baby Kai.

“We tried to make Zion involved in everything sa nangyayari,” he said. “Kasama siya sa lahat ng checkups namin, sa lahat ng ultrasounds, sa lahat ng shopping na binili namin in preparation for Kai.”

“Gusto namin maging involved na kaagad siya as an older brother, as a kuya, to have responsibility for his brother,” he continued. “Gusto namin na hindi siya maiingit or magiging sad ‘pag nandyan na si Kai. Gusto namin ma-embrace niya kaagad ‘yung brotherhood nila.”

Their efforts seem to have paid off as Richard happily shared that Zion is very excited for his baby brother’s arrival.

“Tuwing naggu-goodnight siya sa ‘min or nag-a-I love you siya sa ‘min, tatlo na kami, ‘I love you Mom, Dad, and Kai,’” he revealed with a smile.
Of course, even with Baby Kai on the way, Zion remains a priority. Richard shared that he and Sarah have enrolled their little lion in voice lessons after witnessing his passion for music.

“Ang hilig niya talaga ngayon ay kumanta. Ang hilig niya sa music,” the “La Luna Sangre” star said.

He furthered, “Since nakita namin ‘yung hilig niya sa music, dun na namin siya dinala agad, pina-voice lesson namin siya. Now he’s into piano. Kung ano ‘yung hilig niya, kung ano ‘yung passion niya, dun namin siya ilalagay.”

The actor relayed that Zion inherited his love of music from his mom and his grandfather Eddie Gutierrez. It may be recalled that videos of Zion and his grandpa singing Elvis Presley songs became viral in January.

“My dad sings a lot to him tapos ‘yung bond nila nung dad ko, talagang very strong,” Richard said. “‘Yan ang pastime nila, kumanta ng mga Elvis Presley songs, [Frank] Sinatra songs, so andami ng songs na na-memorize ni Zion.”
