The cast of “Ang Dalawang Mrs Reyes” reunited to celebrate the success of their film with a thanksgiving party at the 9501 café in ABS-CBN today, February 23.
They were joined by ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak and Star Cinema Managing Director Olive Lamasan, who both expressed their heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for the actors and the brilliant team behind the film for putting out a fun and quality one.
Director Jun Robles Lana, producers Perci Intalan and Atty. Joji Alonso were also present at the small gathering, where everybody got to say their thoughts on their success.
Of course, lead actresses Judy Ann Santos and Angelica Panganiban were there as well and got emotional on their turn to speak.
Judy Ann thanked Star Cinema, Quantum Films, and Idea First for trusting her this sensitive film, then said that she hopes for more films like it in the future.
“Thank you for the trust, for the wonderful material. Sana may mga susunod pang ganito na makabuluhang pelikula,” said the Prime Superstar.
Angelica echoed her sentiments, but gave her speech a little twist being the Hugot Queen herself. “Thank you po kasi gusto niyo pa rin ako kahit lahat sila inayawan ako. Thank you sa inyo at pinipili niyo ko. Salamat talaga. Sana ‘wag kayo magsawa. Gagalingan ko para ‘wag niyo ipagpalit.”
But the two Kapamilya stars weren’t just talking about the film’s box office success, they also shared how much they appreciated all the love and positive feedback it’s been getting until today.
"More than sa kinita, mas more on sa reaction ng mga tao. Mas nagma-matter 'yung maganda 'yung review ng movie, madaming nakatanggap nung plot ng story. Mas nakakabigla actually 'yung walang masamang nasabi dun sa pelikula. 'Di ba sa panahon ngayon na napakaraming opinyon ng bawat isang tao. But then, mas nakita 'yung pagiging positive nung movie. 'Yung pag-tackle sa LGBT community and at the same time naging masaya 'yung reaksyon ng mga tao so mas 'yun 'yung pinaka nag-matter talaga,” said Judy Ann.
Also starring JC de Vera, Joross Gamboa, Andrea Brillantes, Carmi Martin, Nico Antonio, and Gladys Reyes, “Ang Dalawang Mrs Reyes” premiered last January 17.
