A new thriller is about to land in the country this March.
"Devil's Gate," an independent film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last April, will open in Philippine cinemas this March 7.
Devil's Gate is the name of the town where a woman and her son disappeared mysteriously. To solve the case, FBI agent Daria Francis (Amanda Schull), searches for the main suspect -- the husband and father of the missing -- Jackson Pritchard (Milo Ventimiglia). As Francis' team investigates the house, they find an even bigger case waiting for them.
Leading the film is Milo Ventimiglia, a lead star in the hit US TV series "This is Us", where his performance won him a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series last January.
In a story by Huffington Post last April 26, Milo felt how dark and intriguing the film was based on his first read of the script.
He said, "I read the script, I loved it, I saw the cast assembled ― they’re friends and I’m a fan ― and I was like, ‘This just feels like it would be fun to make.’ And it was fun, but it was also dark and f****d up!"
Meanwhile, the character of FBI agent Daria Francis is played Amanda Schull, an actress who made recurring appearances in various US television series such as "One Tree Hill", "Pretty Little Liars", and "Suits".
From the producers of “300” and “Superman Returns”, “Devil’s Gate” is directed by Clay Staub.
