KZ Tandingan has been consistently making us proud with her excellence and distinct style of singing. Most recently, she represented our country in China, as a challenger in the televised competition, "Singer 2018".
Last Wednesday, February 13, KZ met with media friends here in the Philippines to share her experiences and preparation for the next episode of the China-based contest. She mentioned that at first, she was scared that the Chinese audience might not appreciate her "odd" style of singing.
It is true that KZ has a distinct style and arrangement for every song she does, so in an exclusive interview at the sidelines of the event, we asked KZ about her creative process.
Like most artists, KZ couldn't pinpoint her exact way of creating, because it just happens.
KZ sang her own version of "Isang Linggong Pag-ibig" as the official soundtrack (OST) of the Star Cinema movie "Sin Island," and also a version of "Till My Heartaches End" for the OST of the upcoming film "The Significant Other". And because she's busier than ever with "Singer 2018," how does KZ take care of her voice now?
The 25-year-old singer shared, "Ngayon mas umiiwas talaga ako sa dairy. So, kailangan extra alaga. [Tapos] tubig, tubig, tubig."
KZ won Week 5 of "Singer 2018," beating her idol, international singer Jessie J, and other artists. She moves forward to Week 6, which will be aired tomorrow, February 16.
