Billy reveals real reason for 'Showtime' absence

Singer-host-actor Billy Crawford finally explained his absence in the noontime show, "It's Showtime".

On "Magandang Buhay" today, October 5, Billy gave the details.

"Well right before the wedding kasi medyo naging busy talaga," he said. "'Yun nga, one of the reasons na nag-leave muna ako sa 'Showtime,' which sa awa ng Diyos and thank you sa management dito na pinayagan naman ako to be on a leave."

Billy and Coleen tied the knot last April at Balesin and are often seen traveling abroad for their honeymoon. The two are also busy building their dream house.

"So instead naman na magpaasa pa ako na 'oo, babalik ako, babalik ako,' I just took time off na lang," he said.

Along with his plans to be the best husband that he can be, Billy wanted to go back to his passion for music.

He said, "So finally after 9 years natapos ko na ang album ko. It's part of my life, my music." Of course, Coleen served as his inspiration on pursuing his singing career.

Billy remained positive that he'll return to his "It's Showtime" family, but maintained that his family was his top priority at the moment.

"I really do want to start a family as well. Ang hirap, I want to be there. I want to be a husband to my wife, I want to be a father to my kids," he said.

Coleen, meanwhile, shared her own thoughts regarding Billy's decisions,  "At this point in his life at 36 years old, he wants to slow down and he wants to focus on family. Buong buhay niya he didn't get to focus on family. Ako hiwalay ang parents ko. So pareho kami na 'yung gusto sa buhay, 'yun talaga ang priority namin is to have a good family life. 'Yun ang pangarap namin."

In movies, Billy was cast in "Momzillas" co-starring Maricel Soriano, Eugene Domingo, and Andi Eigenmann, and in "A Second Chance" with Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.

Meanwhile, Coleen topbilled "Sin Island" with Xian Lim and Nathalie Hart last February.
