Bea Alonzo has always been fearless in taking on strong female characters on her big-screen outings, and she'll be continuing this tradition with her latest role as the energetic and fast-talking Ali in "First Love".
There's something to be said about a woman who manages to get out of bed and confront a fatal heart disease on a daily basis WITH a smile on her face. And in celebration of Face Your Fears Day yesterday, October 9, we put the spotlight on the amazing Ali and the two big lessons she's given us about conquering your fears and finding happiness.
1. No fear is big enough to take you down.
Ali is suffering from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which means she can go into cardiac arrest at any given moment. Everyday Ali wakes up, there's a large chance that she can just drop and die. And yet...
...she doesn't let her fear of sudden death keep her from living a full life. She opens her heart (no pun intended) to complete strangers, and faces every day with enthusiasm and a big smile. Everything is about perception, Ali teaches us. If you stay positive, then the universe follows your lead.
2. Seize the day!
Ali lives like every day is her last. Her motto is "Carpe Diem!" and she approaches life recklessly. She talks like she'll never talk again, and dives into love fearlessly with a man named Nick, played by Aga Muhlach.
We only live once, so why not learn from Ali and do it without fear?
Produced by Ten17P along with Star Cinema and Viva Films, Paul Soriano's "First Love" hits cinemas this October 17!
