THOUGHT PICKS: With LizQuen, we've learned true love can't be cheapened

Now that their vacation is over and done with, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil have left us reeling in a trail of online sweetness, deep professions of love, and of course, the lingering question: Ano'ng nangyari sa Europe??? What prompted these two to such an overwhelming display of love?

Here's the truth: We don't know. What we only know for sure is what they share with us.

You and I

First of all, Enrique's penchant for calling Liza "my love" on his posts for their Europe trip is one, nakakakilig and second, a huge clue. This isn't the first time he's done this before, of course, but in one post, he wrote to her, "I love you more than anything" and in another, he went full dreamboat, writing, "I promise to make you smile for the rest of my life".

Oh, and Liza wasn't skimping on giving us the "in love na in love" vibes either.

Merry Christmas from our Family (not complete) to yours!!! ❤️ Its our (@soberanojustin and I) first time to not celebrate christmas in our house. It may not be the traditional way of celebrating but nonetheless is it meaningful. There were many firsts for us and Im happy I get to spend it with people I love dearly. Sadly my dad, stepmom and new baby sister werent with us for christmas because my dad was denied of a UK visa, but they are enjoying in Paris!! 💚❤️ I also want to take the time to say thank you to @angelydub of @accesstravelph for taking good care of us, and for organising this trip. We couldn’t have done it without you!! Of course Ms. Thess Romero and sir Jun for helping my dad out with his visa. Also, happy birthday Jesus. Thank you Papa God for sacrificing your only begotten son for the lives of many, let us not take that for granted. Merry Christmas again everyone and Enjoy!! 🎄

First off, she called Enrique "family" which, based on how totally family-oriented Liza is, is a huge, huge deal. Oh and, "Rianne loves her Kuya Quen just as much as I do" and "You make my dreams come true"? Liza, our one true Hope, we see you.

Buuuut of course, we don't know anything for sure. Neither Liza nor Enrique have breathed a word of an actual confirmation about their romantic relationship. Yes, they've declared they're in love. Yes, they've said their love has no labels. But then came this Europe vacation and suddenly, may feeling na parang we were also reborn as fans?

Something has changed between them, something has evolved, and it really does feel like we're evolving with them. Like maybe there's no point in digging for clues as to whether they're "on or off" because they just...are.

We also know this: home really is where the heart is.

"Home" is a more meaningful label than "girlfriend/boyfriend" anyway. Because no matter where you go, home stays with you. Sa "home", may forever tayo. So label or no label, official or not official, we can feel how much they love each other and that's enough for us.

Liza and Enrique teach us that in this day and age where icons are sometimes reduced to consumable images, we don't need to cheapen true love with senseless gossip. This is love, LizQuen is saying with their online interactions. This is what love means, this is how love grows when two equals have found each other and have chosen to be happy.

Their stans put it better than we ever will:

In the end: if they're happy, then we're happy. Cheers to 2018, indeed!

Liza and Enrique are set to reunite on television in the upcoming historical fantasy show "Bagani".
