Robi goes emotional over first solo project
Kapamilya TV Host Robi Domingo couldn't help but feel emotional because finally, he has his own solo show.
In a story by PEP last Saturday, January 27, Robi said, "Siguro kaya rin ako naging emosyonal kasi ito 'yun, ito na 'yung pangarap na nagkatotoo. Ganito pala 'yung pakiramdam dati nila Piolo [Pascual], ganito pala ang pakiramdam ng may solo project. Dati nasa gilid lang ako, pinapanood ang mga iniidolo ko kapag nagpe-presscon. Ngayon, ito na 'yun!"
Robi is referring to his new web series under ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs titled "Lakwatsero". Robi shared that he was able to get to know himself better because the show allowed him to travel and see the world in different perspectives.
"I have lived in the world of book all my life. I was a big nerd in grade school, high school, and even college. If not for 'Lakwatsero' and ABS-CBN, hindi ko po talaga mae-explore ang mga bagay na 'yon. I would be stuck in a room studying about biology or anatomy. But because of this show, it has given me a new perspective in life. Dati mukha talaga akong pera lang. You know, I just go and work and be financially ready in the future."
Robi has previously hosted alongside Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzalez in "Pinoy Big Brother". He and Alex Gonzaga also co-hosted several editions of "The Voice of the Philippines." And he's also regularly seen hosting on the musical-variety program "ASAP" and music channel MYX.
The 27-year-old Robi then shared a meaningful conversation he had with a German national while filming an episode for "Lakwatsero".
"I got to talk to this German dude while we were traveling, ano siya, azucarero, sabi niya, 'There are two kinds of riches in this world, a guy who is rich in money and a guy who is rich in character. I pray and hope that you'd be the second one.'"
He continued, "Because of this show, I've been learning so much about my world and this whole world. We're just so blessed and lucky."
Congrats on your new project, Robi!
