Meet the newest voices of Star Music!
Star Music has always been keen on discovering new artists in the country. And in a series of contract signings held yesterday, January 24, we were introduced to four new talents that will be added to the roster of the label.
Let's get to know them!
1. Zion Aquino
The name Zion Aquino might already sound familiar for some, and that is because he bagged three awards at the 30th Awit Awards last year for Best Ballad Recording, Best R&B Recording, and Best Performance by a New Male Recording Artist. What a talent!
Now that he's with Star Music, his first single will be "Reason Enough," a revival of Regine Velasquez's song released in the 90s.
Asked what will differ him from other artists in the industry, Zion answered, "If you listen to [my] album, you will hear that there's a distinct voice and I don't think I'll find anyone here that sounds close to [me]."
2. RJ Agustin
RJ Agustin was discovered because of a song he uploaded on YouTube titled "Pusong Bakal". It eventually became a hit. And when he guested in radio station MOR 101.9, that's when the bosses of Star Music took an interest in him, and got him to sign under the label!
His song "Pusong Bakal" will now be officially recorded and released under Star Music as part of his contract.
RJ said that his songs always have a message that hits the heart. "I want to give voices to people na nasaktan, naka-experience ng breakup, mga may kinalaman sa love."
3. Brian Gazmen
Newcomer Brian Gazmen's first official single will be titled, "Ayoko Nang Makarinig ng Love Song". Quite a big statement to make, but Brian said he wants to inspire people in his own way.
He said, "Pang inspire lang sa mga millennials, na kahit nakipag-break sila, move on pa rin [sa life]. Kahit bumagsak ka, move on pa rin."
4. Martin V
Martin V is only 15, but that is exactly the edge he thinks he has in the industry. This young artist is ready to cater to the millennials, and he also said he wants the "pang-masa" sound appeal.
Congratulations and welcome to Star Music, boys!
